Special Education Teacher in Seattle, WA

You will provide essential instruction and guidance to students within a Learning Resource Classroom (LRC1) setting, following an established caseload at the elementary level. Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Washington State Special Education Teaching certificate (required)
- Experience or passion for working with elementary-aged students in a resource setting
- Must be able to secure fingerprinting clearance through OSPI (or be willing to obtain)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Commitment to fostering an equitable and positive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Assess students’ progress, adapt teaching strategies, and document outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion
- Participate in IEP meetings and support families through the process
- Create a nurturing environment that empowers students with special needs
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) contract opportunity available for immediate start and extending through June 17, 2027. Candidates must provide a copy of their Special Education Licensure/Certification and indicate their OSPI fingerprinting status with their application.
