Special Education Teacher in Aurora, IL

Available roles include:
- Resource position at a junior high, 7:50am-3:15pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, beginning August 20.
- RISE program at a high school, 7:05am-2:35pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, August 20 through November 11.
- STARS program at a junior high, 7:50am-3:15pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, beginning August 20.
Key qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Proven experience supporting students with a range of learning needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Adaptability and creativity in delivering individualized instruction.
- Proficiency in behavior management and data-driven documentation.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress.
- Create engaging lessons that accommodate diverse learning abilities and promote independence.
- Provide targeted interventions and monitor student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including progress reports and IEP documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training.
