Special Education Teacher in Barre, VT

Key Qualifications:
- Current Vermont Special Educator license and full compliance with VT DOE SPED requirements
- Demonstrated virtual SPED case management experience in Vermont—including proficient IEP writing and compliance
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative spirit
- Ability to review academic and behavioral data to inform best practices and support IEP goals
- Capable of coordinating with staff, related service providers, and families in a remote educational setting
- Two supervisor references from prior virtual SPED roles are required
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage a remote caseload of 45 high school students, serving as their primary case manager
- Coordinate, schedule, and lead all IEP meetings, evaluations, and re-evaluations
- Draft and update compliant IEPs, monitor student progress, and ensure deadlines are met
- Collaborate closely and consistently with a core team of educators and service providers
- Maintain weekly communication with families and staff regarding student progress, goals, and concerns
- Interpret data to develop and refine student supports, accommodations, and modifications
