Special Education Teacher | Part-Time | Onsite
We have an opening for a Special Education Teacher in our school district and are actively interviewing candidates. Position Details
- Weekdays
- Start date: August 2026 - June 2027
- Pay: $35-$45/hr depending on experience (paid every Friday)
Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction and support to special education students using district-approved curriculum
- Implement lesson plans, modify as needed, and maintain structured, supportive environments
- Monitor student progress and ensure compliance with IEP goals and state requirements
- Foster positive and inclusive classroom atmospheres
- Work closely with administrators, regular classroom teachers, and support staff to meet student needs
- Document progress and behavioral incidents as required by school protocols
Are you who we're looking for?
Qualifications
- Valid Vermont State Special Education Teacher certification (attach PDF of license and resume with application)
- Experience working with students who have learning differences, behavioral needs, or other special education requirements
- Strong communication, adaptability, and classroom management skills
- Ability to follow established Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborate with school staff
- Willingness to accept last-minute or short-notice assignments
Preferred Experience:
K–12 center-based special education classroom experience
PBIS / CPI / restorative practices
Trauma-informed instructional practices
