Qualifications & Certifications:
- Valid Special Education Certification for the state of Kansas (SPED Cert in KS required)
- Experience working with middle or high school students in a special education setting
- Familiarity with life skills and/or resource classroom instruction is a plus
- Ability to build rapport with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to students on individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and progress reporting
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment
