Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education certification in the state of Kansas
- Experience working with students in Life Skills or Resource settings preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes and ability to develop/implement individual learning plans
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with teachers, administrators, and families
- Flexibility and positivity in adapting to different classroom needs
- Previous experience in a school environment or relevant internship/fieldwork
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and interventions to middle school students within Life Skills programs and high school Resource classrooms
- Design and modify curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student
- Track progress and document performance to support IEP compliance and continuous student growth
- Collaborate closely with support staff, paraprofessionals, and general education teachers
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment that supports academic and social development
- Attend team meetings, trainings, and contribute to the school community as needed
This position spans the full academic year, with a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Onsite support and resources will help you thrive in your practice and professional development.
