Special Education Teacher in Belding, MI

You'll collaborate with educators and related service providers to implement evidence-based programs focused on student success and individualized growth. Ideal qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License (substitute certifications are not accepted)
- For high school autism: bachelor’s degree with an endorsement in autism spectrum disorder or other special education area, and willingness to pursue coursework as needed
- Emotional Impairments certification or Autism endorsement required
- Previous experience working with mild to severe behavioral challenges and significant disabilities preferred
- Strong commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching in a self-contained classroom
- Flexibility, resourcefulness, and outstanding communication skills
Responsibilities include:
- Creating adaptable lesson plans tailored to IEP goals
- Implementing behavioral interventions and data-driven instruction
- Collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant guidelines and documentation
