Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois LBS1 certification
- Previous experience as a special education teacher (preferred, but open to all passionate candidates)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive communication
- Commitment to implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum to support K-4 students’ learning needs
- Manage a classroom of learners with communication disorders, attending to both academic and social-emotional growth
- Develop and monitor progress on IEPs
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, therapists, and families
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
