Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Special Education Teaching Certification (SPED Cert in KS required)
- Background in either elementary or secondary education, or both
- Experience supporting diverse learners, including those in resource and/or self-contained settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, staff, and families
- Ability to plan and adapt lessons for varying educational needs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop lesson plans tailored to student abilities and educational goals
- Track and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom atmosphere
