We're seeking two dedicated professionals ready to have an immediate impact throughout the 2026-27 school year in full-time, contracted roles (Monday through Friday, 35-37.5 hours weekly). These positions support students in developing confidence and essential skills vital for academic success.
Position Highlights:
- Full-time contract roles, Monday–Friday schedule
- Two openings:
- Teach 6th grade English Language Arts, Specialized Reading, 6th grade Math, and Specialized Math.
- Serve as an Academic Assistance Teacher for grades 6-8, focusing on executive functioning and supporting students in a resource setting
Key Qualifications:
- Current or eligible Special Education Teacher certification in Connecticut is required
- For the ELA/Math/Reading role: Experience with or training in reading intervention programs (SPIRE, WILSON, Orton-Gillingham, or similar) strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge in modifying curriculum and adapting instruction for diverse learning needs
- Commitment to supporting students’ academic and behavioral goals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in both inclusion and resource settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interventionists, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to school-wide initiatives and meetings
- Support students with executive functioning and core academic needs
