You will work across two elementary schools with three open positions: two in behavior-focused units and one in an emotional disabilities classroom. There is also potential flexibility to support a middle school assignment.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for elementary levels
- Demonstrated experience in both Special Education and General Education classroom environments
- Background working with students who have severe behavioral or emotional needs, preferably in self-contained settings
- Strong classroom management and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to diverse learning needs
- Completion of required fingerprinting and drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-impact, individualized instruction to elementary students in self-contained classrooms
- Develop and track progress on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general educators and support staff to integrate inclusion strategies when appropriate
- Foster a safe, supportive learning environment centered around student growth and emotional well-being
