Special Education Teacher | Cambridge, Massachusetts
Make a real impact helping students succeed! A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with a math endorsement, supporting K-12 learners on a part-time basis. This position is conveniently located near Cambridge, MA, and offers the flexibility to work just two days per week, creating an ideal balance for professionals seeking fulfilling work with time for other pursuits.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education (SPED) teaching license with math endorsement
- Experience working with K-12 students in a special education setting
- Strong skills in adapting lesson plans to diverse learning needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) focused on math instruction
- Deliver engaging, differentiated math lessons tailored to unique learning styles and abilities
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and IEP compliance
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and support staff to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress with families and multidisciplinary teams
