Special Education Teacher in Cambridge, MD

This full-time position involves working with middle and high school students within an inclusive co-teaching model. The focus is on empowering students with a range of disabilities—including Other Health Impairments, learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments—through both push-in and pull-out services. Most instruction takes place in general education classrooms, ensuring each student has access to the least restrictive environment and a rich social experience.
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Special Education License
- Previous school-based experience is preferred
- Expertise in developing and delivering individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong skills in collaboration with general education staff, support teams, and families
- Effective classroom management abilities
- Compassionate approach and dedication to fostering student growth
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Deliver specialized and differentiated instruction
- Work in tandem with general education teachers to provide cohesive support
- Collect and maintain data on student progress
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate proactively with families and staff to ensure consistent support
