- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Background in middle school education preferred
- Experience writing and managing IEPs (a few due this term)
- Knowledge of cross-categorical teaching strategies and differentiation for a variety of disabilities
- Strong communication and advocacy skills for students and their families
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans for your students
- Provide personalized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet a wide range of abilities
- Foster an inclusive, engaging classroom culture for seventh-grade learners
- Collaborate closely with a team of eight other special education teachers for support and idea-sharing
- Track and document student progress while maintaining accurate records
- Communicate effectively with families, staff, and related service providers
