Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving students across a dynamic K-12 environment for the upcoming school year. This full-time contract position centers on making a significant impact with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and non-verbal communication needs. You'll work on a campus supporting three school districts and be part of a collaborative, caring educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with ASD and non-verbal students
- Understanding of adaptive communication strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
- Residing in or willing to commute to the local area
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to K-12 students with diverse learning profiles
- Adapt curriculum and create materials for students needing unique supports
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain regular communication with families, staff, and specialists to support student progress
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment focused on student safety and achievement
- Monitor and track progress, documenting growth and areas for continued support
Schedule & Environment:
- Full school year commitment
- Work hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Sizable campus housing students from three districts and offering diverse professional experiences
