Special Education Teacher - Chester, PA
Chester, PA
Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher by supporting students’ growth and success at both the middle and high school levels during the 2026–2027 academic year. This onsite, full-time contract role offers four openings: one in middle school and three in high school (with specialized concentrations in Science, Math, and Social Studies). Scheduled hours vary by assignment and will be determined prior to your start date.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid certification or licensure required for caseload
- Bachelor’s degree necessary to qualify for an emergency teaching permit
- Prior experience in a school setting, preferably within an urban district
- Demonstrated classroom and behavioral management expertise
- Strong knowledge of relevant subject matter and current instructional methods
- Ability to prepare standards-aligned lesson plans that utilize formative assessment and differentiated instruction
- Reliable transportation; punctuality and schedule flexibility essential (no accommodations provided for work hours)
- Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to start
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, adaptive instruction tailored to diverse learners in middle or high school classrooms onsite
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement individualized education plans and classroom accommodations
- Create a positive, productive learning environment that fosters student achievement
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching methods as needed
- Communicate effectively with students, guardians, and staff
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely records in compliance with district and state requirements
This assignment begins August 24, 2026 and runs through June 10, 2027, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and supportive academic community. School-based experience and comfort working in urban settings are key for success in these roles. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.
