With the flexibility to support either early learners (Kindergarten through 2nd grade) or students in upper elementary (4th through 5th grade), you’ll become an essential part of a collaborative school community focused on student growth and success.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies and materials to meet students’ individual education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management skills in a self-contained setting
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Compassion, creativity, and a desire to empower all learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to meet each student’s IEP goals
- Foster a supportive and motivating classroom environment that encourages participation and growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive student support
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed
- Implement behavior strategies and modify curriculum for student success
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of classroom activities and resources
