Qualifications and Experience:
- Active LBS1 certification required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous experience in elementary or middle school special education preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, and social skills
- Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods for differentiated learning
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to monitor student progress
- Maintain clear and accurate records, including documentation required for compliance
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
- Foster an encouraging and safe classroom atmosphere that promotes student confidence and success
