This position offers 37.5 hours per week, allowing you to focus deeply on each learner’s unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-specific requirements apply)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working in self-contained classrooms or with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management and individualized instructional planning skills
- Ability to adapt curriculum, create IEPs, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals for students in a self-contained setting
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Assess student progress, maintain records, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Work closely with related service providers, support staff, and families to ensure the best educational outcomes
- Provide direct instruction, behavior support, and daily living skills development as part of students’ educational plans
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing collaboration with colleagues
