Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL

With multiple openings available for K-8th grade, you’ll play a key part in fostering growth, inclusion, and academic success for students with diverse needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students in K-8th grade preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet unique student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Understanding of behavioral management techniques and classroom accommodations
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, individualized lessons for students with varied learning abilities
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Assess student progress regularly, using data to inform instructional decisions
- Provide academic and behavioral support within inclusive and resource settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to create cohesive strategies for student success
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and program goals
