This contract opportunity encompasses serving a diverse caseload of approximately 32 students, some of whom require full-day special setting instruction, while others join for targeted special education services throughout the day. Qualifications:
- Current and valid Oregon teaching certification required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with a variety of learning needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and data-driven instruction
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies and collaborate with paraprofessionals to meet each student’s unique needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for assigned students, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Create engaging, differentiated lessons within the special education classroom, adapting plans to both group and individual needs
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and support staff to promote inclusion and maximize student achievement
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and timely communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in school-based meetings, ongoing professional development, and progress reporting
