You'll lead a class of kindergarten through second-grade students with Multiple Disabilities (MD), creating an inclusive space where every child can thrive. Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Demonstrated experience as a special education teacher, preferably with primary grades (K-2) and students with multiple disabilities.
- Knowledge of developing and executing modified curriculum and individualized accommodation plans.
- Skill in implementing highly structured routines and classroom management strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with colleagues, support staff, and parents.
- Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction using modified lesson plans tailored to individual abilities and IEP goals.
- Deliver hands-on support for students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe, and predictable classroom environment.
- Monitor, document, and report student growth and engagement during the assignment.
- Collaborate with therapists, paraprofessionals, and other educators to ensure cohesive support for each student.
- Communicate effectively with families about student progress and classroom events.
