Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state credentials or eligibility required)
- Previous experience in special education settings, especially with Autism (AU) or Multiple Disabilities (MD) populations
- Comfort teaching and managing K-1 students in an Autism-focused (AU) classroom
- Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills
- Ability to create an inclusive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support K-1 students with Autism or multiple disabilities in a full-time, M-F (8:00 AM–3:30 PM) setting
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to foster student growth
- Utilize evidence-based approaches to promote social, behavioral, and academic development
- Regularly assess student progress and adapt instruction accordingly
