Desired Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Educator License with Special Education endorsement
- Ability to write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Experience collaborating with related services staff such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy professionals
- At least 2 years of recent experience as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach English and Social Studies for a group of Grade 8 students, employing evidence-based instructional strategies
- Share a manageable caseload (approximately 13 students) and foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Design, implement, and assess IEPs, ensuring compliance and progress monitoring
- Partner with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to deliver individualized support and promote student success
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and adapt instruction to evolving student needs
