Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid New York State Educator License with Special Education Endorsement
- Minimum of two years of recent teaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to write and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Experience working collaboratively with related services staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive learning environment
- Flexibility, organizational skills, and a commitment to educational excellence
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach Grade 8 English and Social Studies, ensuring the needs of students with disabilities are met
- Develop and manage effective IEPs tailored to individual student requirements
- Coordinate regularly with co-teachers and related services staff for optimal student support
- Track student progress, document interventions, and participate in IEP meetings
