Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certification (Instructional I or II) required, or eligibility to obtain this prior to start date
- No emergency or out-of-state certifications can be considered
- Prior experience working in Emotional Support or similar structured classroom settings preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to establish clear routines and reinforce expectations consistently
- Compassionate, collaborative, and adaptable approach to teaching
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and instruct an initial caseload of 13 middle school students, with possible growth to 20
- Design and implement effective lesson plans tailored to each student's IEP
- Establish and maintain predictable classroom routines
- Employ positive reinforcement and individualized behavioral supports
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure holistic student progress
- Document and report student progress in accordance with school and district guidelines
