Special Education Teacher - Conroe, TX
Make a real difference by providing crucial educational support as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a Homebound 3rd grade Life Skills student. This contract opportunity offers meaningful engagement on a flexible, part-time schedule of 6 hours per week (4 instructional, 2 compensatory service hours). The role is onsite and begins as soon as possible, running through Extended School Year (ESY) and continuing into the next academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with Life Skills programs and/or Homebound instruction preferred
- Ability to develop and implement individualized instruction based on student IEPs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with families and school teams
- Compassion, flexibility, and creativity in addressing unique learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and compensatory educational support in-person to a 3rd grade Homebound student
- Develop individualized strategies in line with IEP goals and district standards
- Maintain accurate records and regularly track student progress
- Communicate consistently with parents/guardians, team members, and administration
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to collaborative planning as required by the district
