Special Education Teacher | Cosmopolis, Washington
Make a meaningful impact supporting students in grades 2-5 as a Special Education Teacher! This full-time contract position offers you the chance to work closely with a diverse caseload of approximately 30–35 students, tailoring instruction and interventions to meet a variety of learning needs. Your expertise will help foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can succeed.
Ideal candidates have experience collaborating with general education teachers, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and using evidence-based instructional strategies. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, as you will interact with students, families, and fellow educators to provide comprehensive support.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Prior experience in an elementary school setting, particularly with grades 2-5
- Proven ability to manage a caseload of 30-35 students
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and data collection
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom techniques
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to student growth
Responsibilities:
- Create, review, and implement IEPs for each student in your caseload
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to offer inclusive educational opportunities
- Assess student progress and modify instruction based on individual needs
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student goals and achievements
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations
