Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Current and valid Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license (required)
- Demonstrated experience working with early childhood or elementary-aged students, preferably in an intensive skills or autism support setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt lessons and teaching strategies for diverse learners
- Compassionate, patient, and resourceful approach to behavior management and student motivation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support services to students with intensive needs in both early childhood and elementary classroom environments
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), monitoring and reporting student progress
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and families to ensure holistic student success
- Integrate evidence-based strategies and classroom management techniques to maximize student engagement and learning
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings, conferences, and training as required
- Foster an inclusive classroom community that recognizes each student’s unique strengths and needs
