Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification from the RI Department of Education as an All Grades Special Education – Severe Intellectual Disabilities Teacher
- Strong background working with elementary-aged students with profound intellectual and developmental needs
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for severe and profound disabilities
- Commitment to fostering a compassionate and inclusive classroom environment
- Previous experience in a special education setting is highly desirable
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methodologies to meet the needs of each student
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support student progress
- Monitor, document, and communicate student growth and achievements to families and the school team
- Apply strong classroom management techniques to ensure a structured and supportive learning atmosphere
