Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (SPED) for the state.
- Previous classroom experience, ideally in co-taught or inclusion settings.
- Strong understanding of IEPs and ability to implement accommodations and modifications.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
- Adaptability, strong communication skills, and commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Experience with small group instruction preferred.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with general education teachers as a co-teacher in grades 3–4 and 7–8 classrooms.
- Provide direct instruction and support to groups of less than 10 students, ensuring all IEP requirements are met.
- Adapt lessons and develop instructional strategies tailored to student strengths and learning goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communication with multidisciplinary teams.
- Foster a positive classroom climate that encourages student growth, engagement, and self-confidence.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.
Additional Details:
- Contract runs from August 19, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Two positions are available, onsite at both primary and middle school locations.
