Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential or certification (required)
- Experience working in school settings, particularly in resource, self-contained, or inclusive classrooms
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies to support students with varying abilities
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrators
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Adaptability and creativity in adjusting teaching methods to individual learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet students’ unique learning needs
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal guidelines related to Special Education
- Conduct assessments and track student growth towards IEP goals
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and parent conferences
- Foster a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment
- Liaise with general education staff to provide support and accommodations as needed
- Provide regular updates and communicate progress to families and educational team members
