Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification applicable to K-8th grade
- Experience working in elementary and/or middle school settings, ideally in both instructional and resource capacities
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and the ability to adapt instruction based on student needs
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Excellent organization, collaboration, and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classrooms
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction individually or in small groups, adapting lessons for students with a variety of learning needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and support staff to integrate special education resources
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and regularly communicate student progress to staff and families
- Develop strategies and accommodations to enhance student engagement and success
- Create a positive classroom environment that emphasizes respect, empathy, and high expectations for all learners
- Maintain accurate records and keep documentation up to date
