Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, IL

Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS certification required
- Experience supporting students in grades 6-8, particularly those with learning differences and social-emotional needs
- Proficiency in adapting curriculum and implementing IEPs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with parents and multidisciplinary teams
- Patience, empathy, and a creative approach to teaching diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons and modify instructional techniques based on student IEPs
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Collaborate with counselors, specialists, and paraprofessionals to support students’ holistic development
- Serve as a resource for students, offering both academic and emotional guidance
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation and update of student plans
