Special Education Teacher | Detroit, Michigan

Key Qualifications:
- Active Teaching Certification for Michigan with a Special Education endorsement required
- Previous experience with students who have mild to moderate special needs is highly desirable
- Strong communication abilities, allowing collaboration with colleagues, families, and other support professionals
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom culture
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and regularly monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student
- Employ diverse instructional strategies and accommodations to address different learning styles
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers to promote student success
- Track and document student progress, making data-driven instructional decisions
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff training, and relevant professional development
- Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence
