Special Education Teacher in Elizabeth, CO

This full-time contract position offers the chance to work closely with a small caseload of 6-8 students, allowing for individualized instruction and strong student relationships throughout the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals of each student.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support inclusive practices and ensure student success across all settings.
- Employing evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to address a range of disabilities and learning styles.
- Collecting and analyzing student data to monitor progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
- Creating a welcoming, structured classroom environment that promotes safety, confidence, and engagement for all.
- Participating in professional development and faculty meetings as part of the school community.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for elementary level (or eligibility).
- Prior experience working in an elementary school setting, particularly with students requiring significant support.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Commitment to fostering growth, independence, and positive outcomes for every child.
This is a full-time contract role for the 2026-2027 academic year, beginning in early August and concluding in late May.
