Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with elementary students, preferably in significant support needs/severe needs settings
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom, support staff, and related service providers
- Skilled at adapting instruction and materials to meet a range of learning and behavioral needs
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction for students with significant support needs
- Manage a caseload of 6-8 students, ensuring all IEP goals are addressed and progress is documented
- Develop lesson plans and instructional strategies tailored for diverse learners
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, aides, and therapists to promote student success
- Foster a safe, positive, and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Engage with families and guardians to support student growth both at school and at home
- Maintain compliance with all district and state special education regulations and reporting
