Special Education Teacher | Elkhart, Indiana

Qualifications:
- Valid or pending Indiana Teaching Certificate (required)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher is highly preferred
- Background in teaching students with mild and/or intense intervention needs
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to diverse student abilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset to work alongside general and special education staff
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s learning goals
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with emotional impairments (EI), mild, or intense intervention needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate student records and progress reports
- Engage with families to update them on student progress and strategies for continued growth
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
