Key Qualifications:
- Valid New Mexico teaching license in Special Education (required)
- Experience teaching or supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, preferably in elementary grades K-6
- Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
- Excellent communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and responsiveness in dynamic learning environments
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with ASD in K-6th grade
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with teachers, therapists, and families
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that promotes independence and growth
- Utilize evidence-based instructional techniques tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators
- Attend meetings, provide input on educational programming, and communicate regularly with caregivers
