A rewarding opportunity awaits passionate Special Education Teachers eager to make an impact in students’ lives across both elementary and secondary age groups. This contract role combines a supportive setting with the chance to deliver high-quality, individualized instruction. Four positions are available, focusing on either resource or specialized (self-contained) classrooms. Each teacher will be dedicated to one onsite location, fostering a consistent, stable environment for students and staff alike. This assignment runs from August 12, 2026 through May 26, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Current Special Education Certification in Kansas is required.
- Experience working with elementary or secondary students in inclusive/resource or specialized settings strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated skill in developing, implementing, and modifying IEPs.
- Effective classroom management abilities and positive behavior support skills.
- Strong communication skills and an inclusive, student-centered philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction and support tailored to students’ unique learning needs.
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain clear records and data collection to track student progress.
- Collaborate regularly with general education staff and support personnel.
- Create positive, nurturing classroom climates that encourage academic, social, and emotional growth.
