Special Education Teacher in Evanston, IL

This contract position begins August 5, 2026 and runs through May 12, 2027, providing the chance to build meaningful connections and guide 20-30 students toward success. With a standard schedule of 37.5 hours weekly across 5 days, you’ll have the structure to focus on individualized instruction while contributing to a positive school culture.
Qualifications:
- Valid LBS-1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) certification required
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Dedication to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to K-12 students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Partner with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create inclusive environments
- Assess student progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Foster a classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported
