Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility in Michigan (ECSE preferred)
- Experience working with young children in special education settings
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
- Ability to adapt to dynamic classroom environments and shifting student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead a classroom of Early Childhood Special Education students (starting with 6, may increase as the year progresses)
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and IEPs tailored to student needs
- Oversee and guide three instructional assistants
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
- Communicate effectively with families and collaborate with other ECSE staff
- Manage an independent classroom with ongoing support from a seasoned peer educator
