Key Qualifications:
- Valid Standard AZ Secondary Teaching License
- Current Arizona K-12 Special Education Certificate
- Must possess an IVP Fingerprint Card
- Previous experience in self-contained behavior classrooms, especially autism or structured intensive support settings
- Demonstrated background supporting students with emotional disabilities and/or a range of areas of eligibility
- Familiarity with at-risk, multicultural, limited English proficient, and exceptional learners
- Solid grasp of special services procedures, including compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
- Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training, or willingness to participate in relevant staff development
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and structured behavioral support to students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports both prosocial and self-regulatory skills
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective interventions
- Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with all legal and district guidelines
