Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in school-based special education settings strongly preferred
- Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to build rapport with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Positive, empathetic, and adaptable mindset
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and execute tailored lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student
- Administer and track progress on IEP goals and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education staff and specialists to support inclusive practices
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, staff development, and parent communications
- Document educational progress and maintain regulatory compliance at all times
- Encourage and celebrate student achievements, big and small
