Special Education Teacher - Kenner, Louisiana

Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Louisiana DOE teaching certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement required
- Demonstrated experience or training in special education teaching
- TA/TAT credentials are not accepted; currently certified candidates only
- Ability to complete and pass time-sensitive district credentialing requirements, including drug screening and fingerprinting
- Flexibility to be assigned to more than one school if needed
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and an enthusiastic approach to collaborative teaching environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying learning needs
- Deliver specialized instruction in accordance with district and state SPED guidelines
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, school staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and track student progress
- Uphold confidentiality and act in accordance with all legal and ethical standards
- Support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in inclusive and self-contained settings
