Two distinct positions are available:
- Resource/Co-Teaching: Collaborate closely with general education staff to provide targeted resource support and inclusive co-teaching to high school students, ensuring access to curricula and promoting student growth.
- Self-Contained (Neurodiverse): Lead a dedicated classroom for neurodiverse students in a self-contained setting, developing and implementing individualized strategies that foster academic and personal development.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience with high school-aged students highly desired
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Commitment to supporting students with various exceptionalities, including neurodiverse learners
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organization skills
- Familiarity with resource and co-teaching models or self-contained instructional practices
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Effectively manage IEP processes, including writing goals, documenting progress, and maintaining compliance
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment focused on student strengths and growth
- Adapt and differentiate instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Participate in professional development and ongoing school initiatives
