Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Illinois
- Demonstrated experience or interest in self-contained classroom settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and differentiated instruction
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, guardians, and school staff
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to student success across a range of abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and adapt materials for students in grades K-5 with special needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and school teams
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom that encourages engagement and social development
- Track and communicate student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure meaningful growth
- Participate in professional development and adhere to district policies and best practices
- Engage in new staff training (details to be announced), ensuring preparedness for the school year
