This contract position gives you the chance to make a lasting impact in a cross-categorical program, working in an academic-centered environment with a manageable caseload (typically around 7 students). You’ll join a team dedicated to guiding students toward success, focusing on both core academic skills and mild self-regulation support.
You’ll benefit from a structured schedule—Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week—allowing for work-life balance while you commit to truly transformative teaching.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid licensure/certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience, coursework, or practiced skill in cross-categorical teaching environments
- Strong understanding of differentiated academic instruction and mild behavioral or self-regulation strategies
- Ability to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
- High school experience preferred, but not required
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess individualized academic instruction tailored to students’ unique needs
- Support students with mild self-regulation challenges to develop positive coping and social skills
- Manage a diverse caseload while maintaining compliance with all special education laws and documentation
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine IEPs and learning plans
- Engage with parents/guardians and provide regular updates on student progress
