Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York Special Education Endorsement
- At least two years of recent experience teaching special education
- Strong proficiency in developing, writing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Confident presenting information and recommendations at IEP meetings
- Experience in student assessment and goal tracking
- Passion for fostering growth and inclusion across diverse learning needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Write and regularly update IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Conduct student testing to track progress and inform instructional strategies
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, sharing insights and supporting student advocacy
- Create a positive, inspiring classroom atmosphere that nurtures academic and social development
