In this role, you will:
- Develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Present and participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with families and fellow educators
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ progress and adapt instruction accordingly
- Track and document students’ goals, providing timely updates to all stakeholders
- Teach and support students with diverse learning needs using evidence-based practices
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
Ideal candidates bring:
- Current New York endorsement in Special Education
- Proven proficiency in writing and implementing effective IEPs
- At least two years of recent teaching experience in Special Education settings
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering equitable learning opportunities for all students
